Half-filled or half-empty?

Whether one views a half-glass of water as half-filled or half-empty depends on his agenda.

If he is a supporter of the cause, he would view it positively as half-filled. Otherwise he would see it as half-empty. Different conclusion using the same data.

Therefore there may be more than one 'truth' based on the same data depending on the beholder's agenda. There's probably no absolute truth in this universe !

Confidence must be based on something

When I was younger, someone asked me this -"Don't you haveconfidence in wooing this particular pretty girl?".

I just couldn't reply because I really did not have thatconfidence. I didn't Kuw Why I didn't have it.

Now I know confidence is based on knowledge, ability and money. Not empty talk or boasting.

We can lodly declare our - confidence but it is based on emptyboast which will produce no result.

We are made to be physical, mental, emotional and spiritual beings

Human beings are complex creatures.

We depend not only on our physical strength for daily living but also on our brains, heart and spiritual strength from the within.

God made us not to be over-dependent on one particular attribute lest it betrays us.

To be a muscular brute devoid of common sense, intelligence and empathy is unwise. Likewise, to be an emotional wreck without logical thinking is silly.

we must learn to be a balanced and have a harmonious physical-mental-emotional-spiritual dependency in order to lead a successful life.

Mr Right does not exist

Neither does Ms Right. Stop dreaming and stop waiting in vain. Grab the best love available and get on with your life.

There is no soul mate. There is no real love. It is all a matter of meeting the best available option at a particular time. If we miss this best option, there may not be another better in future.

For those who waited too long, loneliness shall be your companion. For those who are conceited, who think none is worthy of their love, just remember your ' value' slides as time goes by.

Evaluate your suitors constantly. Never ever hope to snare a perfect mate. if you did, your are unworthy of him/her, because you yourself are fart from perfect.

We do not learn from our mistakes

We do not or should not have to learn from our mistakes !

To have to learn from our mistakes is a pathetic thing. We should not have made the mistake in the first place.

We learn from our teachers or from books or internet. And our teachers get their knowledge from books. And books are written by authors who learned from someone else or from their mistakes. In short, we learn from others' mistakes, not our own !

Japanese KAIZEN Total Quality Management focuses on this important principle - Do Right The First Time ! We should try to minimize mistakes, especially our owns.

I believe in God but not in religion

I believe in God. I believe god created the universe. Why? I can see the divine designer hand in the beautiful order and complexity of the universe.

I do not believe totally in organized religion. I believe man's explanation of God is flawed. And religion is man's flawed attempt to explain God.

Many men claim to know the thoughts and heart of God. They got some right but some dreadfully wrong.

Yet they claim to know everything about God. Thus many blamed God for the mistakes and atrocities men did in the name of God.

As for me, I shall take these men.s words with a pinch of salt. I shall rely on my heart, mind and spirit in knowing God.

Blind Obedience in Christianity ?

Christians who question their leaders are always labelled as rebellious and unteachable. Some preacher even go to the extent of labeling such Christians are treacherous.

They always point to the bible how the Israelites and Christians who were disobedient to God and His prophets and get punished in the end. Well that is true. God is infallible and His prophets are God's personal anointed. To question them is like questioning absolute truth, Yet we see David questions God in Psalms and so do other prophets like Job and Jeremiah. And God is gracious to tolerate such questioning.

But modern church leaders are not God and neither are they infallible Time and time again great Christian leaders fall due to their own arrogance , greed and lust.. Yet they demand total obedience without question from their congregation, elevating themselves to the status of God and His anointed prophets. In many occasions they led their sheep astray,

Why they detest questioning ? It is because a questioning church is burdensome to the leaders. They hate people questioning their judgements. They hate to lose face in public and they hate to manufacture reasons for what they do. Life would be a breeze if there is no questions and people would just obey like robots.

While there are people who are anti-establishment and critical towards everything, a little questioning and opinion differences should not be view as a threat to church leaders. It is a healthy development as churches like other organizations need checks and balances.

The bible never tells us to blindly obey our leaders. However it does tell us to even correct each other in love even if the corrected is older than us.The bible also tells us to discern truth from the fake.

It is very hard not to question a leader if he appears to be heading the wrong direction or his teaching is contrary to the Bible, Because Martin Luther questioned the Catholic Church of his time, Reformation came and we have Protestantism today,

We are all living in the information era where all information are readily available in the internet. We are no longer the dumb illiterate peasants that were always being lied to and manipulated by the church in the olden days.

To blindly obey your leader is another Christian myth perpetuated by evil people who wants to have a tight hold on others' lives and thoughts. They want to have power over others. It is evil disguised as scriptural.
